Guess hollywood is trying to grab the rights to make a Dead Island films based around the hype of the first trailer. You know… The one with the backwards chronological order-ness and the dead girl and it made you cry. A lot.
I understand why people are uneasy about the new “The Thing” movie, but though I wholeheartily sympathize with your fears, the film looks pretty good and from what i’ve heard, the filmakers seem to have tried as much as possible to capture the paranoia in the 1982 movie.
“I know I’m human. And if you were all these things, then you’d just attack me right now, so some of you are still human. This thing doesn’t want to show itself, it wants to hide inside an imitation. It’ll fight if it has to, but it’s vulnerable out in the open. If it takes us over, then it has no more enemies, nobody left to kill it. And then it’s won”—MacReady in “The Thing” 1982 (via shakeyseatenalive)
“If you think about the founding principles of the United States, if you think about the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, what’s interesting to me is how two different people can look at the same set of documents by a single group of writers and come away with entirely different opinions about what those writings mean-so different that they’re willing to kill each other over them.”—Ken Levine.
